# Personal Year number calculator

Numerology reads life in nine-year cycles, and your Personal Year number says where you are in yours. Enter your date of birth to get it for this year, along with this month's and today's numbers.

## How the Personal Year is calculated

1. Reduce your birth month to one digit (November, 11, becomes 1 + 1 = 2).
2. Reduce your birth day to one digit (the 29th becomes 2 + 9 = 11, then 1 + 1 = 2).
3. Reduce the current year to one digit, the Universal Year (2026 is 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, then 1).
4. Add the three and reduce to one digit.

The Personal Month adds the current month to the Personal Year, and the Personal Day adds today's date to the Personal Month. All three are reduced to one digit, 1 to 9: cycle numbers are counted, so master numbers are not kept.

The year runs from 1 January in this calculator, the most common convention. Some numerologists start the personal year on your birthday instead.

## Frequently asked questions

Not in this calculator, which uses today's date. The [Personal Year API](/personal-year-number-api) takes any date and returns the years ahead.
