Life Path Number API

One request

The life path number comes with every chart. A chart needs a name as well, because the same call returns the name numbers:

If you only have a birthdate, POST /v1/cycles takes just birthdate and returns the current pinnacle, challenge and life cycle along with the personal year. See personal year numbers.

Why not compute it yourself

Adding up digits takes one line of code. Reducing them the way numerologists do takes more care:

• Reduce each part first. The month, day and year are reduced separately and then added. Summing all eight digits at once loses master numbers: 1990-03-12 happens to give 7 either way, but many dates do not.
• Keep 11, 22 and 33. A life path of 11 is not a 2. Master numbers explains when they survive.
• Flag karmic debt. A 13, 14, 16 or 19 on the way down is reported in karmic_debt_numbers, which naive code throws away.

Is there a free life path number API?

Yes. The free plan includes 100 charts a month with no card required, and every chart contains the life path number.

Does the API return master numbers for the life path?

Yes. A life path of 11, 22 or 33 is returned as is, not reduced to 2, 4 or 6.

Can I get the life path number from a birthdate only?

The chart endpoint also needs a first and last name, because it calculates the name numbers in the same call. The cycles endpoint needs only a birthdate and returns the current pinnacle, challenge, life cycle and personal year.

Does it also return the meaning of the number?

No. The API returns numbers, not interpretations, so you can write descriptions in your own voice and language.
