How a phone number is calculated
- Add every digit of the number. Spaces, dashes, brackets and the plus sign are ignored.
- Letters in a vanity number (such as 1-800-FLOWERS) count with their Pythagorean value: F is 6, L is 3, and so on.
- Reduce the total by adding its digits until one digit remains.
For 555 010 2368: 5 + 5 + 5 + 0 + 1 + 0 + 2 + 3 + 6 + 8 = 35, then 3 + 5 = 8.
